This page is a forum for residents of Anoka County, MN and anyone else interested in real-time updates of police, fire, EMS and weather incidents that occur within the county or nearby to obtain information and live scanner audio to gain a better understanding of what is happening in locally in our community and to give a better perspective of the duties and responsibilities of public safety and emergency management officials that is often overlooked or taken for granted. Our belief is that if we can give the public a better understanding of the courage, bravery, integrity, professionalism and extremely high level of skills and knowledge that our Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters & Officers, Medics/EMT's, the Dispatchers that coordinate them all, and other emergency management officals all have and what risks they take on a daily basis for us is , then the community as a whole can work with them much easier and with more respect and pride for them that they all deserve, we can work towards common goals of preventing crimes from happening in our neighborhoods, fire safety and prevention, emergency preparedness and educating the public about how they can work with our public safety agencies and their officials to accomplish these goals and all live in a safer, well prepared and educated community that we can all be proud to call home.

We currently have 3 admins who provide content to this page with a variety of skills, knowledge, equipment, training and experience that make up for a great team to keep this page updated with the most important, up to the minute information as possible. The Anoka County Public Safety scanner feed is also provided voluntarily by one of the admins of this page and we will make reference to it frequently as you can listen to the live police, fire and EMS audio yourself on your computer or mobile device. The feed details section found in the link provided listed as the website of this page is also a great source of information regarding the communications side of the county's public safety system. It is highly recommended to read the details section of the feed if you are not familiar with monitoring public safety communications systems as it will explain its basic structure, what talk groups (channels) are on the feed, what most all of the codes used by the county's agencies mean and much, much more. For mobile users who wish to listen to the feed, I would highly recommend using the app Scanner Radio Deluxe (free) available for both Android or iPhones/iPads as it supports a feature that this feed provides called alpha-tags which will show a text description of which talk group is currently being streamed at the time. For PC users, the best and one of the few players that supports meta-data/alpha-tags is Winamp using one of the modern skins. But even without the text tags, you will find the audio very interesting and possibly quite addicting to listen to, so if you haven't heard this feed before we highly recommend trying it out soon!!!
